Frank S. Farrell

Frank received his Bachelor’s degree from Lawrence University in 1973 and his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law in 1978. Prior to entering private practice in 1988, he worked for Unisys Corporation, where he was General Counsel for its Southeast Region, and for Digital Equipment Corporation, where he was a Senior Consultant and negotiator for its Software Services Division.

Frank has been actively involved with the Licensing Executives Society, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Computer Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association and the Computer Law Association.

Frank has represented clients in state and federal court on many patent infringement and other intellectual property cases; and has extensive trademark prosecution and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board experience. His experience includes taking a patent infringement case to a successful jury verdict in 2010. He is a frequent lecturer on Intellectual Property Law topics for continuing legal education and other professional development seminars; He has structured and negotiated many patent, copyright and trademark licensing and technology transfer transactions, and has experience with infringement licensing.

Frank is an experienced litigator, and has extensive experience in resolving disputes involving intellectual property and / or technology issues, including patent, trademark and copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, disputes about software development and other information technology issues and vendor / client disputes involving products and services.

Frank is admitted in to practice before the United States District Court for the Districts of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

Alexander J. Farrell

Alex began work on patent and intellectual property litigation immediately after his graduation from law school. Since entering private practice Alex has had the opportunity to work with clients in many different fields on intellectual property. Alex has worked on litigation matters involving patents, trademarks, and copyright infringement.

Also, Alex has worked to help new technology businesses grow and prosper through technology licensing agreements and by securing their intellectual property. Alex is an active participant in the Licensing Executives Society and Federal Bar Pro Se legal project.
